Onsite backfill deskside support
We are looking for someone to cover a 12-month project for one of our clients based in Vevey, Switzerland.
Requirements:
- At least three years of relevant experience providing EUC field services, deskside support or an equivalent end-user computing support function in a corporate environment.
- Demonstrated proficiency in diagnosing and resolving desktop, notebook, peripheral, printer, operating-system and standard business-application incidents.
- Practical experience with Windows 10 or later, Microsoft 365 applications, hardware deployment, standard imaging, IMACD activities, asset inventory maintenance and service-ticket documentation.
- Working knowledge of IT service-management practices, incident escalation, SLA compliance, information-security requirements and Customer site procedures.
- Ability to work independently at Customer locations, communicate effectively with end users, the Service Desk, DXC personnel and third-party vendors, and provide clear written service records and status updates.
- Fluency in German and French; intermediate proficiency in Portuguese and/or Spanish.
- Completion of all required pre-employment screening, security checks, Customer onboarding, site-access requirements and applicable health and safety training before deployment.
- Relevant industry certifications, such as ITIL Foundation, CompTIA A+, Microsoft endpoint-support certification or an equivalent qualification, are preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Resolve incidents upon receipt of escalation from helpdesk.
- Support Windows 10 or newer Microsoft operating system and standard application.
- Liaises and coordinates with respective IT personnel and vendors to resolve reported incidents.
- Works with end-users to identify problems or issues, provide solutions and resolve problems.
- Works with Customer internal IT support groups and outside vendors to resolve problems or issues.
- Always adheres to the Helpdesk and End-User Support Service Level Agreement.
- Participates in the planning, installation, testing, implementation and support of new hardware and software as well as evaluation of vendor performance.
- Conducts routine hardware and software audits of workstations to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties and participates in special projects as assigned.
- Maintains and shares operational knowledge base by participating in education programs, staff meetings and in-services.
- Install, Move, Add, Change & Delete (IMACD) activities for desk-side equipment such as desktop / notebook computer, PDA and printers.
- Deploy Desktop PC and Notebook with standard image to the users.

Key Responsibilities
- Maintain, govern, and continuously improve MES standards, templates, best practices, and system architectures across manufacturing sites.
- Provide technical support for MES operations, including troubleshooting, performance monitoring, incident resolution, and system optimization.
- Support MES enhancements, upgrades, deployments, and lifecycle management activities.
- Ensure GMP-compliant electronic batch records, manufacturing workflows, and system documentation are maintained according to regulatory requirements.
- Develop and review GxP documentation including specifications, risk assessments, test documentation, change controls, and SOPs.
- Collaborate with Automation, IT, Validation, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to implement and maintain MES solutions aligned with business requirements.
- Support integration of MES with automation systems, historians, ERP platforms, and other manufacturing applications.
- Participate in commissioning, qualification, validation, and system release activities.
- Analyze manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for digitalization, standardization, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure system reliability, data integrity, cybersecurity, and compliance with company standards and regulatory expectations.
- Support audits, inspections, and periodic reviews related to MES systems and electronic records.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Automation Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Proven experience with MES, Manufacturing IT, OT, or automation systems within a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences environment.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, batch execution, and electronic records management.
- Experience supporting system implementations, enhancements, upgrades, and operational support activities.
- Familiarity with GAMP, GMP, data integrity, and computerized system validation (CSV) practices.
Technical Skills
- IT/OT background with strong understanding of manufacturing system architectures.
- Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (e.g., PAS-X, Syncade, PharmaSuite, Opcenter, or similar platforms).
- Knowledge of OT infrastructure, industrial networking, virtualization technologies (VMware), and server environments.
- Understanding of system integration concepts and interfaces between MES, ERP, historians, and automation platforms.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices within manufacturing environments.
- Experience with GxP documentation and change management processes.
Languages
- English and/or German required.
