We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established international engineering contractor delivering large-scale mechanical and process projects across Ireland.

Due to continued growth, they are looking for a Project Engineer to join their site-based construction team and support the safe and efficient delivery of mechanical installations.

This role is ideal for engineers with experience in piping, HVAC, mechanical construction or process industry projects, especially within data centres, pharmaceutical, industrial or high-tech environments.

This is a hands-on, site-focused role with strong exposure to construction execution, safety and coordination.


Key responsibilities

• Support the on-site delivery of mechanical and piping installations
• Ensure works are executed safely in line with site and client safety requirements
• Prepare and review RAMS and Method Statements
• Coordinate prefabrication activities with workshops and suppliers
• Generate and manage work scope documentation and technical specifications
• Prepare bills of quantities, raise material requisitions and track deliveries
• Liaise with subcontractors, supervisors and client representatives
• Review designs for constructability and raise RFIs where required
• Monitor site progress, quality and compliance with specifications
• Support testing, commissioning and handover documentation
• Assist with cost tracking, variations and change management
• Maintain accurate project records and reporting
• Participate in site inspections, walkdowns and snag management


Profile

• Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Construction or related field
• Minimum 2 years' experience in mechanical construction or process industry projects
• Experience in piping fabrication, installation and testing is highly valued
• Exposure to data centre, pharma or industrial projects is a plus
• Good understanding of site-based construction processes
• Strong safety awareness and quality mindset
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced site environment
• Strong communication and coordination skills
• English level B2 or higher required
EU passport or eligibility for work permit in Ireland is mandatory
