Our client, an international industrial company with operations in Switzerland and Italy, is looking for an Accounts Manager to strengthen its cross‑border Finance & Accounts function. The role combines hands‑on accounting, VAT management, and banking operations across two jurisdictions. The position is hired under a Swiss employment contract, with operational involvement also from the Italian office located in the North Milan area.
What you will be doing
Daily accounting management for Swiss and Italian entities
Processing and verifying invoices (purchase, sales, expenses) with accurate documentation
Maintaining the general ledger, customer/supplier accounts, and performing reconciliations
Supporting monthly and annual closing and preparing financial data for Management
Handling VAT and tax administration, including periodic VAT returns and reconciliations
Ensuring correct VAT treatment for domestic, EU, and international transactions
Coordinating with external advisors (accountants, tax consultants, auditors, authorities)
Managing banking operations: reconciliations, authorised payments, AR/AP ageing, and follow‑ups
Supporting the Italian Permanent Establishment from the Swiss office and liaising with local professionals
Maintaining compliance, audit trails, and internal controls
Supporting financial reporting and documentation requests from Management
What you bring
Practical knowledge of Swiss and Italian accounting principles and VAT rules
Experience working with external stakeholders (tax advisers, auditors, regulators)
Strong banking operations skills including payments, collections, and reconciliations
Confidence managing AR/AP and critical deadlines
Structured, reliable approach to documentation and auditability
Preferable knowledge of SAP/ERP and Microsoft Excel
Minimum B2 level in English
Background
Education in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent
Proven experience in accounts management, financial administration, VAT handling, and statutory coordination
Professional accounting certifications: a plus
