We are looking for a Technical Product Owner – Kubernetes Platform to take end-to-end ownership of a managed Kubernetes platform. You will be responsible for shaping the platform vision and roadmap, managing the product backlog, coordinating releases and ensuring the platform continuously delivers a high-quality, secure and reliable service.
You will work closely with DevOps engineers, architects, product management, internal stakeholders and B2B customers, acting as the key link between business requirements and technical implementation.
This is a highly technical Product Owner role, requiring a strong understanding of Kubernetes, cloud technologies, container platforms, GitOps and platform operations.
Key Responsibilities
Take end-to-end product ownership of the managed Kubernetes platform, from vision and roadmap through to operations and continuous optimization.
Define, prioritize and maintain the product backlog in close collaboration with DevOps, engineering and product management teams.
Develop and communicate the platform roadmap, ensuring alignment with business objectives and customer requirements.
Work closely with internal stakeholders, B2B customers and other Product Owners to understand requirements and deliver measurable value.
Ensure high standards of availability, stability, scalability, security and service quality across the Kubernetes platform.
Drive automation and continuous improvement across platform services and operational processes.
Act as the bridge between technology, business requirements and operational excellence.
Participate in technical discussions with engineering teams and provide input into architecture and technology decisions.
Coordinate platform releases, changes, upgrades and deployments.
Manage change communication and ensure customers and stakeholders are informed about relevant platform developments.
Identify opportunities for new technologies, services and improvements to enhance the platform offering.
Support incident, problem and service management discussions where required.
Ensure priorities are clearly defined and communicated across technical and business teams.
Required Experience & Skills
Proven experience as a Product Owner, Technical Product Owner, Service Owner or similar role within a technical environment.
Strong understanding of Kubernetes, cloud and container technologies.
Good knowledge of GitOps principles and modern platform engineering practices.
Experience working with agile methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, SAFe or similar.
Ability to quickly understand complex technical environments and take ownership of new products or platforms.
Strong ability to combine strategic and conceptual thinking with technical understanding.
Comfortable engaging directly with engineers and participating in technical and architectural discussions.
Excellent stakeholder management, communication and coordination skills.
Strong ability to prioritise requirements and make decisions in complex environments.
Strategic mindset with a high degree of personal ownership and responsibility.
Nice to Have
Previous hands-on experience as a DevOps, Platform or Kubernetes Engineer.
Strong knowledge of CNCF and Kubernetes ecosystem technologies such as:
ArgoCD
Prometheus
Grafana
Cilium
Velero
Kyverno
Experience with managed data services such as MongoDB, PostgreSQL or Kafka.
Experience working within a Service Provider, Telco, Cloud Provider or Managed Services environment.
Understanding of platform-as-a-product and internal developer platform concepts.
Experience with customer-facing B2B platforms or managed services.
Willingness to participate in on-call responsibilities.

Candidate Profile
Your profile:
- At least 5 years of experience as Senior Software Engineer or Technical Lead.

- Experience with relational databases and persistence frameworks.
- Strong German and English skills.
