Client:  Our client is an established Swiss financial institution with an international client base and activities spanning Commodity Trade Finance, Wealth Management and Treasury.  The Bank is looking for a pragmatic, commercially-minded Legal Advisor to join its Legal & Compliance function and provide hands-on legal support across the business.  A bank that Finders know well, thus able to explain the culture and working environment to any potentially, suitable applicant.    Position: Reporting to the Head of Legal & Compliance, you will provide day-to-day legal advice across the Bank, helping the business navigate legal and regulatory matters while taking a practical and solutions-focused approach.  You will work closely with colleagues across the business, particularly Commodity Trade Finance, Wealth Management, Financial Institutions and Compliance, and will also liaise with clients, external counsel and Swiss authorities where required.   Key Responsibilities:  - Provide legal advice and practical guidance to the Bank's various departments on Swiss and international legal matters. - Draft, review and negotiate banking agreements, security documentation and other legal documents, particularly in relation to Commodity Trade Finance and Wealth Management. - Support the Bank on legal matters involving clients, counterparties, authorities, courts and bankruptcy offices. - Advise on client succession and estate-related matters. - Review internal policies, directives and standard documentation and ensure they remain aligned with applicable legislation. - Monitor developments in Swiss banking legislation and regulation and advise the Head of Legal & Compliance on their impact on the Bank. - Work with Compliance on cross-functional legal and regulatory matters. - Coordinate external lawyers on specialist advice, disputes and litigation where required. - Conduct legal research and prepare opinions, reports and other legal documentation. - Provide legal and regulatory training to colleagues where appropriate. - Act as a deputy to the Head of Legal & Compliance on legal matters when required.   Why Apply?   A good opportunity for a Swiss-qualified lawyer looking for a varied in-house position within a specialist banking environment, rather than a narrowly defined legal role.  You will have genuine exposure to the business, including Commodity Trade Finance, Wealth Management and Financial Institutions, within an international and multicultural organisation.
