Job description
For our client, a privately held biopharmaceutical company active in the fields of reproductive health, urology, gastroenterology, endocrinology, and orthopedics, we are looking for an EHS Senior Engineer / EHS Manager.
This role is responsible for the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the site's EHS management system, while embedding a strong safety and environmental culture across operations.
The position requires a high degree of autonomy, the ability to navigate complexity, and confidence in engaging with senior and influential stakeholders. Although this role has no direct reports, it is expected to lead cross-functional initiatives and drive EHS performance across the site.
Missions
- Develop, implement and maintain EHS policy, management system, procedures and work instructions (following ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, ISO 50001 standards) in line with company vision and policy. Conduct risk assessments and evaluate environmental impacts.
- Actively promote safety, occupational health and environmentally responsible behaviour and actions of all employees and contractors through introduction of awareness campaigns and training programs.
- Ensure that all site activities are conducted in compliance with Global EHS requirements and local EHS laws and regulations.
- Establish registration and recordkeeping system to track EHS Key Performance Indicators. Prepare timely EHS data and reports. Track and analyse data to define EHS objectives and programs for continuous improvement (incident prevention, energy savings, hazardous materials management).
- Conduct proper investigations to determine root cause for all facility incidents, spills, accidents, near misses, and occupational injuries and illnesses to prevent recurrence. Analyse problems, identify solutions and implement recommendations to support EHS goals and objectives.
- Represent the company to official authorities and external inspections for all EHS related aspects (mobility programs, operating permits, discharge license, insurance inspections, etc.).
- Promote the use of global systems and tools; participate and contribute to Product Supply EHS workshops; support other EHS colleagues and actively contribute to the EHS cross-site audit programs and best practice development.
Profile
- Engineering degree in Environment, Health & Safety or related field (mandatory)
- Proven ability to work autonomously and manage complex environments
- Strong capacity to interact with and influence senior stakeholders
- Ability to take ownership and lead cross-functional topics without direct reporting lines
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Fluent in French and English
Temporary contract for 12 months
