We are seeking a Product Systems Engineer to join the R&D team. In this pivotal role, you (M/F) will be the technical lead responsible for the end-to-end coherence of our connected products. You will oversee the integration of mechanics, hardware, firmware, and edge algorithms, ensuring that complex systems operate seamlessly from initial concept through to life-cycle support. Key Responsibilities: System Architecture & Design; Technical Leadership; Hands-on Problem Solving; Quality & Compliance; Post-Release Ownership. You are a systems-thinking expert who enjoys bridging the gap between different engineering disciplines. You are as comfortable defining high-level strategy as you are being "hands-on" with critical technical tasks to ensure project success.

Skills required:

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of proven experience in technical development, including experience leading or coordinating technical activities across multidisciplinary teams
  • Proficiency in systems architecture, integration, and validation. Knowledge of engineering tools and software
  • Strong system planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to technically lead and align multidisciplinary teams in complex development contexts
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting technical information to diverse audiences

Personal Attributes:

  • Strong Leadership and Influence. Ability to inspire, guide, and motivate engineers across diverse teams
  • Strategic and Systemic Thinking, sees the "big picture" and can anticipate future challenges and opportunities
  • Approaches complex problems with holistic thinking, identifying root causes and structuring solutions in a logical, comprehensive way
  • Excellent Communication Skills
  • Able to clearly communicate technical details and project updates to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic environment with changing requirements and unexpected obstacles
  • Encourages creative problem-solving and innovative approaches within the team
  • Actively seeks improvements in processes, tools, and systems to increase efficiency and reduce bottlenecks
  • Able to prioritize effectively, manage time, and coordinate work across teams to meet deadlines without compromising quality
  • Balances short-term needs with long-term goals, keeping the team aligned and focused
  • Understands the importance of customer satisfaction and strives to align engineering solutions with client needs

Key tasks and responsibilities:

1. System delivery ownership

  • Accountable for system-level technical delivery across the product lifecycle, ensuring that architecture, integration, and technical risks are actively managed and that functional teams are aligned to a coherent system plan
  • Supports delivery through technical leadership, prioritization of system risks, and hands-on contribution where needed, without being the primary owner of project execution or resource management

2. Feasibility studies

  • The role includes preliminary feasibility assessments providing information to the business, allowing an informed decision on challenges and effectiveness of a project based on high level information supporting prioritizations across multiple projects

3. Systems Design and Architecture (Define and maintain system architectures, managing technical trade-offs and interfaces to ensure consistent performance throughout development and industrialization)

  • Lead the design, integration, and testing of complex systems, ensuring they meet all technical and regulatory requirements
  • Develop system architectures, validate design solutions, and ensure scalability, reliability, and performance

4. Technical leadership and influence (Provide cross-functional guidance to multidisciplinary teams, translating product intent into clear technical plans, integration constraints, and verification criteria)

  • Provide technical leadership across multidisciplinary teams through mentoring, design reviews, and system‑level guidance
  • Influence technical direction, integration decisions, and engineering best practices without direct line management responsibility
  • Lead technical decision-making and issue triage after product release, assessing the system-wide impact of any necessary changes or fixes

5. Hands On Problem Solving

  • Actively contribute to system integration, troubleshooting, and risk reduction. You will ensure validation readiness to keep delivery practical, timely, and robust

6. Quality & Compliance

  • Take accountability for system-level quality and technical compliance, coordinating with manufacturing and certification bodies

Key responsibilities:

  • Design with involved internal and external stakeholders architectures fit for purpose, always considering scalability and cross project reusability
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring across multidisciplinary engineering teams, fostering a collaborative and innovative engineering culture
  • Communicate project updates, challenges, and resolutions effectively to technical and non-technical audiences. Handle risk and propose risk mitigations
  • Ensure all projects meet safety, regulatory, and quality standards
